I am a BACP-registered counsellor offering online therapy to adults seeking a thoughtful, compassionate space to explore emotional difficulties, life transitions, and patterns that may feel confusing or stuck. My work is relational and collaborative, shaped around your individual needs and working at a pace that feels safe and manageable. I aim to offer a calm, non-judgemental environment where insight, emotional clarity, and meaningful change can gradually emerge.
About me and my practice
My given name is Miranda but I largely go by "Millie", and you are welcome to choose either name as feels more comfortable for you as a client.
My practice is grounded in a humanistic integrative approach, which means I work with you as a "whole person" and draw on different therapeutic models to meet your individual needs. I place strong value on the therapeutic relationship itself, believing that feeling genuinely heard, respected, and emotionally safe is central to meaningful change. Therapy with me is collaborative rather than prescriptive, and we work at a pace that feels manageable for you.
I am particularly mindful that many men find it difficult to access therapeutic support, often having learned to manage distress alone or to minimise their emotional needs. My approach offers a straightforward, respectful space where there is no expectation to speak in a particular way or have everything figured out. Together, we focus on understanding patterns, pressures, and emotional responses in a way that feels purposeful, grounded, and relevant to your everyday life.
My work is informed by an understanding of how past experiences, relationships, and emotional patterns can shape the present. I aim to support clients in developing greater self-awareness, emotional resilience, and a more grounded relationship with themselves and others. Online sessions offer flexibility and accessibility, while still allowing for depth, continuity, and a strong therapeutic connection. Whether you are seeking support for a specific issue or a broader sense of self-understanding, I offer a steady and thoughtful space in which to begin.
Experience
I have worked with Listening Post Counselling Services since 2024, a charity offering low-cost face-to-face and online counselling in the UK. As part of my training I joined the counselling team at Gloucester University for a one-year placement, offering short-term therapy to university students. I also worked on placement with Listening Post and - once qualified - worked with some of their more complex case clients suffering from severe trauma and complex mental health needs.
I was also Team Leader for an NHS-funded project - Forest REACH - offering a no-charge therapy service for local individuals in need of complex PTSD and trauma support.
I have experience with clients working through neurodiversity, relationship difficulties, trauma, loss and uncertainty.
I currently offer online therapy to adults, providing a contained and reflective space to explore anxiety, low mood, relationship difficulties, burnout, loss, and periods of transition or uncertainty. I work with people from a wide range of backgrounds and life stages, including younger adults who are trying to make sense of adult life, identity, relationships, and increasing responsibility.
Qualifications
I am a BACP-registered counsellor and work in accordance with the BACP Ethical Framework. I trained in Dublin and the UK, qualifying from a four-year course with an Masters of Science in Psychotherapy & Counselling.

Initial Consultation
Our first session is an initial consultation, offered at a flat fee of £30, and is an opportunity for us to get a sense of whether working together feels like a good fit. It provides space for you to share what has brought you to therapy, ask any questions, and get a feel for how I work. We will begin to identify some loose key aims or areas of focus, which can be reviewed and adapted as our work develops. If we decide to continue, I will then send you a therapeutic agreement, which we both commit to, and I will ask you to read and ensure you understand the payment and cancellation terms before ongoing sessions begin. If you wish, we can also agree a regular weekly day and time for sessions. Therapy is usually most effective when sessions are held weekly, with the option to move to fortnightly sessions if this feels sufficient and appropriate for both of us.
Fees
My standard fee is £50 per session, but I will offer concessions to students or individuals on a low annual income, which can be discussed in our initial consultation.
When I Work
My work hours are flexible to a certain degree and depending on how many clients I am seeing at any time. Late evening does not tend to be a suitable time of day for therapy, so I advise avoiding this if possible.
